Project ECA

Since 2021, we have been sponsoring underprivileged children in Hong Kong from low-income families to learn an extra-curricular activity (ECA) of his or her choice. Under Project ECA, we arrange ECA sessions provided from private tutorial centres or with private coaches for children aged between 6 to 13. Our sponsorship covers the tuition fees (including materials) in full and any transportation costs. 

Our goal is to provide high quality ECA to underprivileged children over a substantial period of time so that they can have the opportunity to explore different areas of interest, increase self-confidence and achieve greater academic success and character development in the long run.

Under Project ECA, we offer:

(1) 1 year of full sponsorship of an extra-curricular activity (ECA) (Starfish will pay all the fees and related expenses); 

(2) free choice of ECA (from learning piano to swimming to taking coding class - you name it!); 

(3) instructors or teachers who are paid professionals that families with higher income would hire (not volunteers!); and

(4) sponsorship that is not subject to academic conditions (we won't ask the applicant to achieve a certain grade at school to get the sponsorship).
